A Mother's Plea For Her Child's Life

Harshit in hospital bed Harshit in hospital ward

"I lost my husband to COVID-19. I cannot lose my son too. Please, I am begging you — help me save Harshit."

Harshit is just 10 years old. Three years ago, he watched his father breathe his last breath as COVID-19 tore their family apart. His mother, a homemaker with no source of income, single-handedly tried to raise him with whatever little they had saved. They were finally healing — until fate struck again, harder this time.

Weeks ago, Harshit started complaining of severe body pain, weakness, and high fever. His mother thought it was a normal fever. But tests at the hospital revealed something no mother should ever hear: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) — a fast-growing cancer of the white blood cells. Without immediate chemotherapy, Harshit's body would slowly stop producing healthy blood, and he would not survive.

The doctors at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre have given them hope — but hope comes at a cost. The estimated treatment is ₹15,00,000, spread across 2.5 years of chemotherapy, hospitalizations, medicines, and tests. For a widow with no income, this number might as well be ₹15 crore.

Every day, Harshit grows weaker. He has stopped going to school. He has stopped playing. He lies in a hospital bed, holding his mother's hand, asking her "Mama, will I get better?" — and she has no answer, because she has no money.

A Mother's Cry For Help

"When my husband died, I thought I had seen the worst pain in this world. I was wrong. Watching my only child suffer — watching his tiny body turn pale, watching him cry from the pain of needles and chemo — this is a thousand times worse.

Harshit is all I have left. He is my world, my reason to live. He keeps asking me when he can go back to school and play with his friends. I smile and tell him 'soon', but inside, my heart is breaking. I have sold everything I could. I have borrowed from everyone I know. I have nothing left.

I am not asking for myself. I am asking for my child's life. If you can help — even a small amount — please, please do. If you cannot, please share this with someone who can. Don't let my son die because we were poor."

Why Immediate Help Is Needed

Harshit's little body is fighting a battle no child should ever face. Every day without treatment brings him closer to a point of no return. Here is his condition — and why your donation cannot wait.

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Diagnosed with fast-growing blood cancer. Without chemotherapy, cancer cells multiply rapidly and overwhelm his immune system completely.

Severe Weakness

Harshit's body has become extremely weak. His hemoglobin and platelet counts have dropped dangerously. He needs blood transfusions regularly to stay alive.

Father Lost to COVID-19

His father passed away during the pandemic, leaving the family with no financial support. His mother is helpless and alone in this fight.

Urgent Chemotherapy

Doctors have warned: any delay in starting chemotherapy could be fatal. The treatment must continue for 2.5 years for full recovery.

Imagine being 10 years old — old enough to understand that something is terribly wrong with your body, but too young to understand why. Imagine watching your mother cry silently at night because she cannot afford to save you. Imagine lying in a hospital bed, knowing that your life depends on strangers you have never met. Harshit is living this nightmare every single day. He did nothing to deserve this. He is just a child who wants to grow up, go to school, play cricket with his friends, and one day make his mother proud. But cancer does not discriminate — and poverty should not be a reason a child dies. His only hope is you. Your contribution — whether ₹250 or ₹5000 — is not just a donation. It is a heartbeat. It is another day of chemotherapy. It is a chance for Harshit to see his next birthday.
